Brazilian scientist Marcos Eberlin gives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discovery.org\/multimedia\/audio\/2019\/05\/marcos-eberlin-for-water-lightning-and-a-living-planet-just-add-foresight\/\">further evidence of foresight<\/a> in solving problems that are necessary to make earth habitable, like water and lightning.<\/li>\n<li>Martha Peace gives some <a href=\"https:\/\/biblicalcounseling.com\/til-207-counseling-tips\/\" class=\"broken_link\">counseling tips<\/a> on the\u00a0<em>Truth in Love<\/em> podcast, with the experience of 30 years as an ACBC certified counselor. This is definitely a must-listen.<\/li>\n<li>On the\u00a0<em>Mortification of Spin<\/em> podcast, Carl Trueman and Todd Pruitt talk about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alliancenet.org\/mos\/podcast\/45423\" class=\"broken_link\">extent of responsibility church leaders and members<\/a> are to have with other people in the church, in light of the Poway synagogue shooting recently. Pray for our presence on social media to lead people closer to Christ, and not further away.<\/li>\n<li>Astronomers David Block and Kenneth Freeman do some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crossway.org\/articles\/5-myths-about-the-relationship-between-science-and-faith\/\">myth busting with respect to the relationship between science and faith<\/a>. There&#8217;s five, so it&#8217;s short and sweet.<\/li>\n<li>From his work on apologetics, R.C. Sproul wrote an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crossway.org\/articles\/why-the-apologist-must-also-play-offense\/\">encouraging post<\/a> for the Christian to go on the offense when presenting the claims of Christ to those who don&#8217;t believe. Our goal is not to answer defensively in every encounter, but to point to the futility of unbelief and the superiority of the Christian faith.<\/li>\n<li>Can a Christian lose their salvation? R.C. Sproul gave a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/blog\/can-christian-lose-their-salvation\/\" class=\"broken_link\">good answer<\/a>, and it&#8217;s still a good answer.<\/li>\n<li>On this week&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Crossway Podcast<\/em>, Desiring God communications director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crossway.org\/articles\/podcast-why-you-probably-need-a-digital-detox-tony-reinke\/\">Tony Reinke is interviewed<\/a> on his recommendation to do a digital detox (and what that means), discerning how to use social media as a habit, and even how\u00a0<em>Avengers: Endgame<\/em> shows us how this world is filled with media.<\/li>\n<li>Denny Burk points out in discussing the role of teaching in the church, there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dennyburk.com\/why-it-is-important-not-to-conflate-prophecy-and-teaching-in-discussions-about-women-preaching\/\">conflation between teaching and prophecy<\/a> with respect to women. Keeping the distinction in view will clarify much about complementarianism as applied practically in the local church.<\/li>\n<li>Author Aaron Armstrong writes of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloggingtheologically.com\/2019\/05\/21\/bittersweet-sponsor\/\">bittersweet feeling<\/a> that comes from no longer supporting a child through Compassion International, a sponsorship program designed with the aim to &#8220;release children from poverty in Jesus&#8217; name.&#8221; This is definitely worth considering if you are thinking through supporting a child to be cared for financially and spiritually.<\/li>\n<li>Do extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence?
