{"id":2949,"date":"2011-03-21T01:00:32","date_gmt":"2011-03-21T09:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/?p=2949"},"modified":"2014-11-19T15:11:21","modified_gmt":"2014-11-19T23:11:21","slug":"weekly-links-3212011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/2011\/03\/21\/weekly-links-3212011\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Links (3\/21\/2011)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Stephen Rodgers<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for your patience. \u00a0The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/?p=2941\">earthquake\/tsunami\/nuclear reactor catastrophe in Japan<\/a> last week and the Singles&#8217; Retreat last weekend pushed the Weekly Links to today. \u00a0Also, before we get to the Weekly Links, I wanted to point out that John Piper has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desiringgod.org\/blog\/posts\/japan-after-empathy-and-aid-people-want-answers\" class=\"broken_link\">some comments on the situation in Japan,<\/a> and Desiring God has put up a list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desiringgod.org\/blog\/posts\/help-japan-at-least-five-options\" class=\"broken_link\">Christian relief organizations<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, I wanted to direct your attention to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/?p=2561\">Recommended Resources<\/a> page, particularly the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/?p=2561#Software\">Software and Study<\/a> section. \u00a0It used to just be the &#8220;Software&#8221; section, but I added &#8220;and Study&#8221; so that I would have somewhere to put resources like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/\">Biblegateway.com<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccel.org\/\">CCEL<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/bible.org\/netbible\/index.htm\" class=\"broken_link\">NET Bible<\/a>. \u00a0Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>And with that out of the way, we can get to a few other links that you might like&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A few weeks ago I posted a link to an audio version of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/?p=2888\">Westminster Shorter Catechism.<\/a> If you&#8217;re not sure exactly what the WSC is, then perhaps you would like to hear Curtis Allen and DA Carson <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sovereigngraceministries.org\/blogs\/cj-mahaney\/post\/2011\/03\/03\/Westminster-Catechism-Rap.aspx\" class=\"broken_link\"><em>rap an explanation for you<\/em>?<\/a> (Trust me, this is probably the only time you&#8217;ll ever hear DA Carson holler &#8220;west side!&#8221;) (AUDIO)<\/li>\n<li>Over at the Ligonier blog, RC Sproul Jr. has an article entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/blog\/5-things-im-surprised-i-cant-find-bible\/\" class=\"broken_link\">5 Things I&#8217;m Surprised I Can&#8217;t Find in the Bible.<\/a> In it, he highlights a number of issues where Christians hold to different opinions. \u00a0(WEB)<\/li>\n<li>I can&#8217;t remember how I found it, but there&#8217;s a video on Youtube that shows <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lmNnXRfTjZ8\">word clouds for all 66 books of the Bible<\/a> (for those who don&#8217;t know what a &#8220;word cloud&#8221; is, it&#8217;s basically a grouping of words from a particular document, where words with higher frequency counts are represented in larger font).
