Besides&#8230;Austin Duncan was the one who originally <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gracechurch.org\/media\/6785\/i_can39t_find_dating_in_my_bible\/\" class=\"broken_link\">quoted it approvingly<\/a>&#8230;blame him. (Speaking tangentially from Austin now&#8230;what the heck happened to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shepherdsconference.org\/media\/\" class=\"broken_link\">SC Media<\/a> page? It&#8217;s practically unusable now&#8230;fortunately, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gracechurch.org\/media\/\">GCC page<\/a> is still alright).<\/p>\n<p>Alright&#8230; we&#8217;ve got a ton of material for you today, so we better get started. \u00a0And when I say a &#8220;ton,&#8221; I really mean a &#8220;metric ton&#8221;&#8230;because it&#8217;s <em>heavier<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First off, Ligonier ministries has been putting out quality material for a while now, but lately they&#8217;ve made huge strides in making it more available and exposed. For example, they now have a page that collects all their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/learn\/series\/?sort=az\">teaching series<\/a>, and another that collects all their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/learn\/conferences\/\">conferences<\/a>. And if you want proof regarding that &#8220;quality material&#8221; I referenced, check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/blog\/ravi-zacharias-and-martyn-lloyd-jones-join-refnet\/\" class=\"broken_link\">new additions to RefNet<\/a> and the latest edition of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/blog\/columns-tabletalk-magazine-october-2012\/\" class=\"broken_link\">Tabletalk<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of sermons&#8230;Monergism.com also just finished putting together an MP3 archive that includes at least <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monergism.com\/thethreshold\/sdg\/byscripture.html\" class=\"broken_link\">one sermon for every chapter in the Bible.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Since I alluded to some resources for both pre-maritial and marriage in my introduction, so here they are: Desiring God has recently released both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desiringgod.org\/blog\/posts\/preparing-for-marriage-free-ebook\" class=\"broken_link\">&#8220;Preparing for Marriage&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desiringgod.org\/books\/this-momentary-marriage\" class=\"broken_link\">&#8220;This Momentary Marriage&#8221;<\/a> as free ebooks. \u00a0Enjoy!<\/li>\n<li>And since we&#8217;re on the subject of free resources&#8230;you&#8217;ll want to know that Amazon is giving away a <a href=\"http:\/\/thegospelcoalition.org\/blogs\/justintaylor\/2012\/09\/28\/dramatized-esv-new-testament-audio-free-at-amazon\/\">dramatized audio version of the ESV New Testament<\/a> for a limited time, christianaudio.com&#8217;s free resource for this month is <a href=\"http:\/\/christianaudio.com\/how-christians-should-vote-tony-evans-audiobook-download\" class=\"broken_link\"><em>How Should Christian&#8217;s Vote?<\/em> by Tony Evans<\/a>, and Logos&#8217; free resource for this month is <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.logos.com\/2012\/10\/free-book-of-the-month-the-christian-doctrine-of-prayer\/\"><em>The Christian Doctrine of Prayer\u00a0<\/em>by James Hastings<\/a>. And since we&#8217;re referring to Logos resources, you might want to know that they&#8217;re doing a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.logos.com\/iphone\">promotional program<\/a> where some other resources have been made free for a limited time as well.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m not much of a &#8220;sports guy&#8221; or a fan of sports in general. \u00a0That being said, I&#8217;m a huge fan of Thomas Lake, and I&#8217;m thrilled that a few other folks around the Christian &#8216;net are <a href=\"http:\/\/thegospelcoalition.org\/blogs\/tgc\/2012\/10\/02\/the-finest-young-sportswriter-in-america\/\">taking notice<\/a> of his <a href=\"http:\/\/thegospelcoalition.org\/blogs\/tgc\/2012\/10\/03\/see-life-in-the-eyes-of-a-skilled-faithful-journalist\/\">work<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Since the collegians are back with us once again, I thought this would be a good time to point out this excellent article from JP Moreland&#8217;s blog on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jpmoreland.com\/2012\/09\/05\/how-to-have-a-worthwhile-education-top-11-recommendations\/\" class=\"broken_link\">how to have a worthwhile education.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Anyone who&#8217;s followed John Piper&#8217;s ministry for any length of time knows that he has tried to write a Christian biography a year for several years now. \u00a0Well, Crossway is now bundling some of those together in book form, and <a href=\"http:\/\/thegospelcoalition.org\/blogs\/justintaylor\/2012\/09\/24\/giving-historical-biographies-to-the-church\/\">Justin Taylor was kind enough to draw attention<\/a> to the original books\/talks (which are online for free at the DG resource library), as well as some lectures on church history by Michael Haykin.<\/li>\n<li>Anyone who&#8217;s followed John MacArthur&#8217;s ministry for any length of time knows he&#8217;s rather indifferent to political issues. However he recently gave a pair of sermons dealing with the issues of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gty.org\/blog\/B121001\">abortion and homosexuality<\/a> that are particularly relevant given the political issues of our time.
