I hope you had a wonderful time with or without your family, with or without Thanksgiving food. And now that Thanksgiving Day has come and gone, I know all of you were looking forward to the next few days with immense anticipation for\u00a0<em>cheap Christian resources<\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tim Challies has done a phenomenal job (as usual) of collecting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.challies.com\/resources\/black-friday-cyber-monday-2012-deals-for-christians\">many of these resources<\/a>. He is updating them on some basis throughout the weekend; so I would encourage you to visit it again.<\/li>\n<li>Westminster Bookstore \u00a0is having a sale of 70% off on Tim Keller&#8217;s new book,\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wtsbooks.com\/every-good-endeavor-timothy-keller-9780525952701\">Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God&#8217;s Work<\/a><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>If you haven&#8217;t seen it before, now&#8217;s a great time to peruse <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monergism.com\/thethreshold\/articles\/onsite\/free-ebooks.html\" class=\"broken_link\">monergism.com<\/a> for a list of free ebooks. Their collection is steadily increasing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Because thanksgiving shouldn&#8217;t be about just one day out of the year, here are some posts to keep you even-keeled:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Do you complain? Perhaps you feel <a href=\"http:\/\/thomrainer.com\/2012\/11\/21\/entitlement_and_thanksgiving\/\" class=\"broken_link\">entitled<\/a>. Well, you&#8217;re not, says God in James 1:17, Psalm 85:12, John 3:27, and 1 Corinthians 4:7.<\/li>\n<li>Do you have tension with extended family members? Or perhaps with some of your immediate family members? Russell Moore offers some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.russellmoore.com\/2012\/11\/21\/how-to-deal-with-holiday-family-tensions\/\" class=\"broken_link\">great, biblical advice<\/a>\u00a0on how to behave as Christians with your family.<\/li>\n<li>And yet there is an example in Scripture when God hates thanksgiving. When is that? Find out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dennyburk.com\/the-thanksgiving-that-jesus-despises\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>To conclude this series on Thanksgiving, David Matthis shares a few words on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desiringgod.org\/blog\/posts\/the-true-story-of-thanksgiving\" class=\"broken_link\">true story of Thanksgiving<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>And here are some articles to complement some of the thanksgiving frenzy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Obamacare is in full effect as the federal courts\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dennyburk.com\/who-is-hobby-lobby\/\">rejected Hobby Lobby&#8217;s request<\/a>\u00a0to halt the enforcement of distributing abortion pills as part of their health care coverage. And because of this, they will have to pay hefty fines in order to make amends with the government. Now is the time to pray for our nation, not just the government but for the individuals who make up this nation.<\/li>\n<li>I pointed you to the Desiring God&#8217;s conference on disability\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/?p=6266\">before<\/a>, and I would be remiss if I didn&#8217;t point you to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desiringgod.org\/blog\/posts\/now-available-disability-conference-audio-and-video\" class=\"broken_link\">recordings<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0I want to point you particularly to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desiringgod.org\/resource-library\/conference-messages\/testimony-of-gods-good-design\" class=\"broken_link\">testimony of Krista Horning<\/a>\u00a0that is so encouraging to hear. I included her closing statement at the top for good measure.<\/li>\n<li>While some of us may cringe at the words &#8220;Wesleyan theology,&#8221; there is perhaps a lesser known aspect to the legacy of John Wesley: <a href=\"http:\/\/fromcajuntoasian.blogspot.ca\/2012\/11\/sacrificing-your-marriage-on-altar-of.html\" class=\"broken_link\">his failed marriage<\/a>. And to give a model to emulate, <a href=\"http:\/\/fromcajuntoasian.blogspot.ca\/2012\/11\/an-uncommon-union-examining-god.html\" class=\"broken_link\">Jonathan Edwards&#8217; marriage<\/a> is given as an example.<\/li>\n<li>Do you ever get anxious? If you do, I would encourage you to read through Paul Tautges&#8217; series on fighting anxiety. He begins with a two-parter on God&#8217;s prescription for anxiety <a href=\"http:\/\/counselingoneanother.com\/2012\/11\/19\/gods-prescription-for-anxiety-step-1\/\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/counselingoneanother.com\/2012\/11\/20\/gods-prescription-for-anxiety-step-2\/\">here<\/a>. Then he describes how we ought to <a href=\"http:\/\/counselingoneanother.com\/2012\/11\/21\/the-anxiety-killing-power-of-thankful-prayer\/\">pray<\/a>. And then he tops it off with some biblical wisdom on how to <a href=\"http:\/\/counselingoneanother.com\/2012\/11\/22\/winning-the-long-term-war-against-anxiety\/\">fight anxiety in the long term<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I hope that whets your post-Thanksgiving appetite for a bit.
