{"id":7216,"date":"2013-02-04T01:00:44","date_gmt":"2013-02-04T09:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/?p=7216"},"modified":"2017-09-06T17:30:46","modified_gmt":"2017-09-07T00:30:46","slug":"weekly-links-242013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/2013\/02\/04\/weekly-links-242013\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Links (2\/4\/2013)"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>&#8220;He who comes forth fresh from beholding the face of God will never fear the face of man.&#8221; (Charles Haddon Spurgeon,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.spurgeon.org\/fcb\/fcb-bod.htm\" class=\"broken_link\"><em>Faith&#8217;s Checkbook<\/em><\/a>, July 17)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>by Stephen Rodgers<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now that we&#8217;ve let a little time pass since the first of the month, all the relevant articles seem to have been posted&#8230;which means I can pass them on to you!<\/p>\n<p>First up, there&#8217;s the obligatory new resources&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 14px\">christianaudio.com&#8217;s free book of the month is <a href=\"http:\/\/christianaudio.com\/gods-smuggler-brother-andrew-and-john-elizabeth-sherrill-audiobook-download\" class=\"broken_link\"><i>God&#8217;s Smuggler<\/i><\/a>, the story of a man who started smuggling Bibles into Eastern Europe in the 1950&#8217;s, and eventually started a ministry to do similar work worldwide.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The new edition of Tabletalk is out this month as well, and the theme is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/learn\/articles\/?tt=128\"><em>Union with Christ<\/em><\/a>. Tabletalk regularly puts out some of the best content I see on a monthly basis, so if you haven&#8217;t started reading it yet, you might want to check our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousebc.com\/beacon\/?p=3373\">index of back issues<\/a> as well.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s also a new issue of <i>Credo Magazine<\/i> freely available, this one dealing with the sudden resurgence of interest in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.credomag.com\/the-magazine\/archives\/purgatory-an-evangelical-doctrine\/\">doctrine of purgatory<\/a> among evangelicals.
