Now I tell them, in order to tie your shoes you&#8217;ve got to have the power of God on your life.\u201d (Paul Washer)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>by Stephen Rodgers<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Alright, it&#8217;s the first WL of the month, which means that we&#8217;re loaded for bear when it comes to free resources. \u00a0Since it&#8217;s only the second day of the month, we may need to do a follow-up post to highlight any resources that aren&#8217;t available yet, but meanwhile, here&#8217;s what is available.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The free audio book of the month is\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/christianaudio.com\/free\/ \" class=\"broken_link\">Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God<\/a><\/em> by JI Packer. Get this, Get This, GET THIS.<\/li>\n<li>The free logos resource for May is\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.logos.com\/free-book-of-the-month\">300 Quotations for Preachers from the Puritans<\/a>.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The new edition of Tabletalk is out, and the topic is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/blog\/columns-tabletalk-magazine-may-2014\/\" class=\"broken_link\"><em>What&#8217;s So New About the New Covenant?<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s also a new edition of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegospelcoalition.org\/article\/themelios-39-1\/\" class=\"broken_link\">Themelios<\/a> available. Don&#8217;t let the length put you off; there are often some really great gems to be mined in terms of the articles.<\/li>\n<li>Also, Credo Magazine has a new issue out entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.credomag.com\/2014\/04\/21\/new-issue-churchy-gimmicks-has-the-church-solds-its-soul-to-consumerism\/\">&#8220;Churchy Gimmicks.&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0It pulls no punches in addressing the consumerism that&#8217;s is infiltrating American churches.<\/li>\n<li>Last but not least, Albert Mohler and many of the faculty at SBTS have released a free ebook: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.albertmohler.com\/2014\/04\/22\/god-the-gospel-and-the-gay-challenge-a-response-to-matthew-vines\/\">God, the Gospel, and the Gay Challenge &#8211; A Response ot Matthew Vines.<\/a>\u00a0If you&#8217;re not familiar with Mr. Vines, he&#8217;s a homosexual apologist who argues that the Bible doesn&#8217;t actually prohibit or condemn monogamous homosexual relationships. Dr. Mohler et. all do a good job of demolishing that argument.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are a few other resources that aren&#8217;t new\u00a0<em>per se<\/em>, but should be of interest to many of the folks at LBC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Easter is behind us now, but in case you missed it, Triablogue has updated their <a href=\"http:\/\/triablogue.blogspot.com\/2014\/03\/easter-resources.html\">list of Easter apologetic resources.<\/a> For discussions on the gospel accounts, the resurrection, and many other aspects of Easter, you&#8217;ll want to check that out.<\/li>\n<li>Also, a number of Vern Poythress&#8217; books and articles have now been translated into Korean and are available for free: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frame-poythress.org\/a-christian-approach-to-mathematics-published-in-korean\/\">A Christian Approach to Mathematics<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frame-poythress.org\/a-christian-approach-to-physics-and-chemistry-published-in-korean\/\">A Christian Approach to Physics and Chemistry<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frame-poythress.org\/christian-interpretations-of-genesis-1-published-in-korean\/\">Christian Interpretations of Genesis 1<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you&#8217;re in San Diego, don&#8217;t forget that this is the 15th anniversary celebration of LBC!
