The weekend is fast approaching, so let\u2019s jump right in!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can men and women be friends? You would think that the answer would be obvious, but apparently not. Jen Wilkin writes about the <a href=\"http:\/\/jenwilkin.blogspot.ca\/2014\/09\/the-church-needs-men-and-women-to-be.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">necessity of men and women being friends<\/span><\/a>, especially at church. I\u2019d invite you to read and consider your current circle of friends: does it include both genders, or just one?<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019ve ever been interested in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aomin.org\/aoblog\/index.php\/2014\/09\/19\/slowly-apostatizing-from-greek\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">learning New Testament Greek<\/span><\/a>, this post lists a couple suggestions that are available for free, and may actually help you in your pursuit of knowing Christ more by studying the language in which the New Testament was written. (FYI, this may require you to purchase David Alan Black\u2019s <i>Learning to Read New Testament Greek<\/i>, which is one of the required readings in New Testament Greek at The Master\u2019s Seminary).<\/li>\n<li>How come our evangelism doesn\u2019t work? Jonathan Dodson gives <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desiringgod.org\/blog\/posts\/two-big-reasons-evangelism-isn-t-working\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">two very big reasons<\/span><\/a>, which I hope we all would heed. Leon Brown gives a corollary post that emphasizes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reformation21.org\/blog\/2014\/09\/wearing-christianity-on-your-s.php\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">wearing Christianity on your sleeve<\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Though this was back in June, the Institute for Biblical Counseling and Discipleship held a conference addressing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibcd.org\/resources\/messages\/series\/summer-institute-2014\/?page=1\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">how to deal with your past<\/span><\/a>. One message that was highlighted this week was Pastor Steve Viars\u2019 message \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblicalcounselingcoalition.org\/2014\/09\/20\/bcc-weekend-resource-handling-evangelism-opportunities-in-counseling\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Handling Evangelism Opportunities in Counseling.<\/span><\/a>\u201d Make sure you check out the first link to find the handout that accompanied this message, as well as the other messages for your benefit.<\/li>\n<li>R.C. Sproul gives some necessary words of wisdom that was generally assumed a generation ago as he answers the question, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligonier.org\/blog\/marriage-just-piece-paper\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Is Marriage \u2018Just a Piece of Paper\u2019?<\/span><\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>I would consider this the highlight article of the week: a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.9marks.org\/blog\/encourage-one-another-giving-grace-your-words\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">biblical perspective on encouragement<\/span><\/a>. Have you used that word recently (in conversation, in an email, in a text)? Read this article to test your understanding and learn some practical ways of encouraging the church. Hoping to see an overabundance of notes in the encouragement box this coming Sunday. =)<\/li>\n<li>Robert Kellemen reminds us that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rpmministries.org\/2014\/09\/a-place-to-belong-and-become\/\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">growth in grace is done through the church<\/span><\/a>, not apart from it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That\u2019s all for this week!
