Having learned my lesson from previous church experiences, I wanted to\u00a0find a church that was committed to teaching the bible and had a congregation that\u00a0was composed of believers. I found LBC\u2019s website while searching for churches in\u00a0San Diego. Listening to Pastor John\u2019s and Patrick\u2019s sermons online motivated me to\u00a0meet the church in person. When I first visited LBC I didn\u2019t feel welcome. It wasn\u2019t\u00a0because people didn\u2019t welcome me. Rather it was because I wasn\u2019t comfortable\u00a0with talking about my relationship with Christ. LBC was set apart from previous\u00a0churches because the members weren\u2019t really interested in my accomplishments in\u00a0the world; they were more interested in asking me about my walk with Christ. After\u00a0a period of evaluation I decided to stay because the church taught God\u2019s word and\u00a0their members lived out the word by keeping each other accountable.<\/p>\n<p>I enjoyed the mid week teaching and the fellowship of Singles ministry. It was good\u00a0to be taught from the bible two times a week and be able to break bread with church\u00a0members. I also liked the investment that people made in each other\u2019s life through\u00a0small group, singles, and informal meetings. Since I was new to San Diego, I also\u00a0enjoyed finding good places to eat and doing fun things in San Diego.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hobbies: I have too many to be specific. I like Martial arts, Outdoor activities, Water Sports, and Dinning.<\/li>\n<li>Favorite Christian book: Is this a trick question? Besides the Bible, I like The Gospel According to Jesus: What is authentic Faith? by John MacArthur.<\/li>\n<li>Favorite Bible verse:\u00a0Colossians 3:23 \u201cWhatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After serving 4 years overseas with the military, I was looking for a church to call\u00a0my own.
