Roger & Grace Alcaraz
Roger: It’s an honor and a joy to serve as the ministry pastor. I’m so thankful for the people here. They are so full of love for God, zeal for his word, compassion for his people, and care for me, his servant. If you’re new to our ministry, I hope you experience the same joys that I have of a deepened relationship with Christ through brothers and sisters who encourage you every step of the way. We’d love to have you join and make our family more complete!
I’ve been very happily married to Mabel for a little over 7 years. God has also blessed us with three beautiful girls, Abigail, Lydia and Elizabeth. My experience at Lighthouse Bible Church has taught me to love God, His Word and His people, and through the ministry at LBC I’ve grown tremendously in my faith. I joined Salt and Light staff several years ago while still single myself. Singlehood is a time when we are really challenged to form our own convictions, and to live a life that pleases the Lord. I look forward to working with the Single adults’ ministry again this year while coming alongside people in prayerful support and walking through life together as a fellow believer in Christ.
Alex & Maria Ko
Alex: I have been blessed for the past 10 years being part of the Singles ministry, both as a fellow single adult and now serving as a small group leader alongside my wonderful wife Maria. My desire is to have everyone at Lighthouse come to love and worship Jesus Christ as Lord, and help each other live according to that truth.
Maria: I am excited to be a part of singles group this year. I have been attending LBC for about 8 years and have grown so much spiritually during my stay here. I am married to my wonderful husband, Alex Ko, and we have three beautiful children with another one coming soon next year. I love singles ministry because I believe singles is a stage where many people solidify their walk with the Lord and grow mature as they face different and more difficult challenges in life.
I came to San Diego in 2005 to get my Master’s at UCSD. I came to LBC because I knew that a friend came here for church. I stayed because of the loving people and hearing teaching like I have never experienced anywhere else. My time in Single Ministry was a great time of fellowship with other singles through activities or simply serving them through fixing their cars or other items. I look forward to continuing to minister to the singles through more than just physical needs.
It is a privilege to serve on Singles staff this year and to have an opportunity to develop relationships with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Kaitlyn, Andrew, Emma, and I are really looking forward to getting to know those in the Singles ministry!
I started coming out to Lighthouse Bible Church beginning of December 2009. What drew me to LBC was the consistent teaching of God’s Word and the genuine desire of the believers to live out the Christian life. I also met my wife, Lynn, at this church, and we got married in the summer of 2014. I work as a research scientist at Eli Lilly, and I enjoy serving on Salt and Light because it’s my desire to encourage the singles and help them apply the principles of God’s Word in practical life circumstances.
My husband and I have been coming to Lighthouse since 2011. The deciding factor on choose to stay at Lighthouse was the Biblical preaching of our pastor and genuine love of people that we met. I consider it a privilege to serve singles at the church. It is an amazing group of young people who strive to honor God and live for His glory. Through this ministry the Lord has shown me that He is the one who changes hearts. Also, I am a full time wife to a wonderful man, and a part time piano teacher.
I started coming out to LBC in 2007, and stayed because I saw that the church has a high view of God’s Word and that the people genuinely care about each other. I missed this ministry after getting married, and I joined staff to encourage the singles to glorify God in this stage of life and to grow alongside them as we run this race together.
I started coming to Lighthouse in 2010 when I transferred to UCSD for college. What impressed me most was the ministry of this church in caring for itself and extending that love to others as a reflection of the love that we have received from God. In fact, that love and care became such a large part of my life that after graduating college I altered my plans and stayed in San Diego. I look forward to continuing to grow together and spur each other on as a community to excel still more in loving God and loving people.
I am currently a licensed Respiratory Therapist and trained/educated in fire protection and EMT services. I started coming to Lighthouse Bible Church beginning of May 2008, moved to Hayward in Nov 2012 to serve in church planting LBC East Bay, and returned to San Diego in Jan 2015. I love and appreciate the Lighthouse family because of their high view of the Triune God, high view of God’s inerrant Word, and genuine love for the Lord and people. It is a privilege to serve in Salt and Light staff and I look forward to see God’s plan fulfilled this upcoming year as we worship together to extol, embrace, and share the story of the progress of the gospel in our lives. May we glorify God as we let the gospel shape our convictions and work in the single stage of our lives.
I have been attending Lighthouse Bible Church for the past 10 years. I have been married to my wife Carol for a little over 5 years and am a proud father of two boys. I look forward to getting to know the singles group and being able to grow together in Christ.
